This plugin is primarily geared for the system administrator\webmaster who is interested in gathering data about their site(s) unique visitors. THIS PLUGIN DOES NOT DISPLAY DATA BY ITSELF. DOVES will only record data in a local file located at /var/log/wordpress/visitors.log
This plugin only records unique visits, i.e. this plugin will record all visits that are not referred to by the host server. For example, someone clicking a link on your site that goes to another page of your site will not be recorded.
The primary purpose of this plugin is so that administrators that use their own OS level reporting mechanisms such as LogWatch, nagios, Big Brother, etc. can create their own reporting plugins for these tools, all the while keeping their WordPress database and admin panel nice and tidy.
I will be offering external plugins to LogWatch and other things. Check my site for these tools.
