This is a plugin for use mostly by theme developers. It's possible that a page called 503.php in theme root folder, is used to prevent website content display. Ideal to report a scheduled maintenance or soon page.
No customization in page is made by the plugin, leaving the developer to prepare a maintenance page within the site layout specifications.
