How to use the REST Server?
To activate the REST server install and activate the WordPress REST API v2 plugin. Beware this requires pretty permalinks.
The search widget currently uses an older proprietary AJAX API and does not use the REST server and does not need the WordPress REST API plugin to be installed.
The REST server is experimental and the API is subject to change.
Please read the documentation.
