The Pan Macmillan Book Extracts plugin adds a shortcode for your posts that allows you to easily display the first chapter of a book that is published by Pan Macmillan.
There are several options that can be configured, including:
– Show an extract in plain text within a post.
– Show an extract in a reading pane within a post.
– Show an extract that opens in a lightbox.
It is also possible to list all books by an author, and display them in a list or as a grid of book covers.
This plugin should enable bloggers who are writing about Pan Macmillan books to easily insert a preview of these books within their posts.
Example Usage:

This plugin creates a shortcode for displaying extracts directly from the Pan Macmillan extracts API (extracts.panmacmillan.com). You can use this to show the selected extract (usually the first chapter) of a book you are blogging about within your post. This works with any book published by Pan Macmillan UK or by one of the subsidiary imprints (Bluebird, Tor, Mantle, Picador).
