DM Albums™ is an inline photo album/gallery plugin that displays high quality images and thumbnails perfectly sized to your blog.
Features:
- New in version 3: DM Albums now uses Galleria for the display engine for improved display with full mobile and full screen support as well as pure Javascript/CSS customization. DM Albums has undergone a major update, dropping the old [album:] syntax for the much easier and faster shortcode support provided by WordPress. (The previous [album:] syntax is still full supported for legacy reasons, but it is recommended that this syntax be forgone for the new shortcodes.)
- New in version 2.4: Support for drag-n-drop photo sorting directly through the WordPress editor, as well as the ability to add photo links to the the main photo. (This functionality is buggy in IE8, but works in all other major browsers. We are working on a solution to offer full support for IE8.)
- New in version 2.3: Album Detail Manager which allows you to add/edit captions from within the WordPress editor. After uploading your album, clikc the "Manage Captions and Photos" link below the album name. This allows you to add/edit photo captions as well as delete individual photos from an album. Also new to version 2.3 is full WordPress MU (Multi-User) support. Please note, some users have had trouble with displaying photo albums after upgrading; to remedy this, Log into the DM Albums Options panel and refresh your settings (click "Show Settings" and then "Update"). If that doesn't do the trick, anecdotal evidence suggests that setting the "Merge Directories" option to "No" and "Album Prefix" to "Photo Album" and then back to "Album". We have also pushed a soft update which has a "Reset Configuration" button under Advanced Settings which can be used to reset DM Albums to it's default setup. If you don't see these button, every option shows the default settings, and you can manually set them back to their defaults and click "update options".
- New in 2.0: Full Album management capabilities available in the WordPress editor. This allows you to add, modify, and delete photo albums right in the WordPress editor, complete with full multi-file uploading.
- DM Albums™ takes full resolution photos and automatically builds thumbnails and allows browsing of the photo album in-line with your post, meaning your visitors can view the entire photo album without leaving your post
- DM Albums™ provides a link to the full screen version of your photo album in case your readers wish to admire the full beauty of your photos
- Fully configurable through the Admin panel.
DM Albums™ is a powerful WordPress plugin based on DM PhotoAlbums™. DM Albums™ takes full resolution photos and automatically builds thumbnails and allows browsing of the photo album in-line with your post, meaning your visitors can view the entire photo album without leaving your post. Once you follow the simple configuration to set up and customize the look of DM Albums™ in wordpress, simply upload full-resolution photos to a directory on your web site, and link to it in your blog post - DM Albums™ will do the rest, even allowing administrator users of your blog to add captions to the Photo Album - directly through the blog post (as long as they're logged in).
As of version 2.0, you can now also manage your photo albums directly through the WordPress editor and even insert the code required for embedding your photo album!
Of course, you don't have to use DM Albums™ in a blog post. With just a basic understanding of HTML, You can use it on any website simply by copying and pasting a few lines of HTML into your webpage.
DM Albums™ uses AJAX to provide smooth interaction while viewing the photo album. DM Albums™ is different from other photo management applications in that it strives to provide the highest-resolution photos possible to the user. Simply upload full resolution images to your web site, point DM Albums™ at the directory they are located in, and DM Albums™ does the rest, scaling the photos to the perfect size to fit the user's screen. As if that's not good enough, it also caches that size of the photo on the server in case it needs to use that size again. The next time it needs to scale the photo, it doesn't automatically go back to the original, full-sized photo; it will find the photo in the cache that has the nearest size bigger than it needs and scales that one instead, improving performance and lightening the load on your server.
