Birch Layered Nav extends WooCommerce Layered Nav as such WooCommerce must be installed and its widgets class must be present. This is default for the active WooCommerce Plugin.
- Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/birch-layered-navdirectory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress
- Use the Appearance Widgets Screen to configure the Layered Nav
- Familiarize yourself with the operation of the WooCommerce Layered Nav this widget is used exactly the same way and adds only one additional field which is a comma separated list of the slugs of WooCommerce Product Categories you want the given filter to show on. Make sure the comma separated list contains no spaces as such (shirts, hats, socks) not (shirts, hats, socks)
1.These slugs of WooCommerce Product Categories are viewable the following admin screen: Products->Categories
Why is the Birch Layered Nav not showing?
You must enter the slug of the Prodcut Categories you want the Birch Layered Nav to be displayed on. Also those products must have attributes that match the attributes the Layered Nav is filtering on. This also works well for Variable Products.
